Plow Pose for the Throat
The best throat chakra yoga poses are those that open, stretches and strengthen the area. Because the heart and throat chakra are so close to each other, most yoga poses that are good for the heart also benefits the throth chakra. You can try bridge pose for a nice stretch, or you can try something different with plow pose or a shoulder stand. Both these poses stimulate the throat by opening it up at the back, stretches the spine and brings blood directly to the throat.
To do plow pose as seen in the picture above, lie on your back with your arms by your side, bend your knees and bring your thighs up towards your belly, slowly drop one leg behind your head. If your breath remains steady, drop the other leg behind your head too. Visualize your throat chakra gently opening.
To make a shoulder stand, start the same way as plow pose, but instead of dropping your legs over and behind your head, bring them upward. This could be a litter tricky for a beginner so I suggest doing a supported shoulder stand by bending your arms and holding your lower back with your hands. Namaste!
