Pete Wentz Says He “Respects” Kanye West’s Designs
Pete Wentz is becoming a regular at fashion week and with his routine attendance, his opinion is beginning to hold water. The 35-year-old bassist recognized Kanye West’s struggle with critics and being one of few at the Adidas collaboration show at New York Fashion Week, he felt it necessary to speak up.
"He definitely deserves respect," Wentz says of West in an interview with
ETonline. "It was like a fashion show from the future, which was kind of insane and very cool to see," he continues, "and it's cool to see there's one guy that can move the dial -- you know what I'm saying? It's really crazy but he's launching a shoe and, besides brand Jordan, it's like the only shoe anyone talks about, which is insane that one person can do that.” Wentz liked the shoes so much, he already got himself a pair.
Fall Out Boy is in the midst of a worldwide tour and the next stop is Japan. It’s been a big year for the band, as both Wentz and bandmate, Patrick Stump, were blessed with children and a successful year with their third No. 1 album,
American Beauty/American Psycho.
Fall Out Boy will perform and be inducted into the Hall of Wood at the mtvU Woodie Awards, streaming live from the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, on March 20.
